An extended look at FFVII Rebirth in next week’s State of Play

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was a no-show in today’s State of Play that showcased what’s coming in the world of PlayStation. But as a consolation for the thousands of fans expecting to see Cloud and the gang during the 40-minute showcase, they announced that Rebirth would be getting a dedicated State of Play on February 6 beginning at 3:30 p.m. PST.

Of course, they were mum on details, but the special State of Play is being described as an extended look at the game and will feature new gameplay details along with “exciting news” not to be missed.

The highly anticipated sequel to 2020s Final Fantasy VII Remake is launching in less than 30 days on February 29. And while the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth team has been good about feeding fans hungry for information and behind-the-scenes content via the official Square Enix blog, a final launch trailer and a demo of the game are still noticeably absent.

Fortunately, we won’t have to wait too long to find out what the Rebirth team means by “exciting news” as February 6 is less than a week away.
