Unfortunately, the projects we have been working on have been very time-consuming, so we did not get many updates pushed out this month. One of the biggest things you might have noticed is that the site now has ads placed around it. When will Final Fantasy XIV go offline in preparation for Dawntrail early access? Headline Image The wait is nearly over as early access for Final Fantasy XIV’s newest expansion, Dawntrail, is just three days away. But before players can dive into the new world of Tural, they’ll need to find something else to do while the game goes offline for 48 hours starting June 26 at 2:00 a.m. through June 28 at 2:00 a.m. PDT.  The long maintenance period and hefty size needed for Patch 7.0 are primarily due to the graphical update the Final Fantasy XIV team has been touting since before the Dawntrail media tour. To make sure players who preordered Dawntrail can jump into the new world of Tural as soon as they’re able, the Final Fantasy XIV team took to The Lodestone to explain the process of participating in early access and how and when to redeem your Dawntrail registration code. First off, if you preordered Dawntrail through the Square Enix Store, registration codes are being sent out via email starting on June 24–that’s four days before the start of early access. New Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail benchmark launches June 3 Headline Image Final Fantasy XIV director Naoki Yoshida posted a final Lodestone update summarizing the graphical enhancements made to the new Dawntrail benchmark character creator. This all-new version lands tomorrow, June 3. Here’s a quick summary of the graphical updates shared by Yoshida. An enhanced “time of day” option has been added to the character creator’s Aetherial Background's new "time of day" option to accurately display character skin tones.
