Another month has come and gone, and we have been working hard behind the scenes improving the site, gathering information, and writing that information up. Unfortunately, the projects we have been working on have been very time-consuming, so we did not get many updates pushed out this month. Final Fantasy XIV can sometimes feel a little too conservative when it comes to embracing silliness, but the recent launch of the Tour Tural site flips that reputation on its head. Introduced by the Interim Deputy Director of Turalism who’s played by comedian Rhys Darby, the satirical tourism site is a fun, refreshing way to introduce the world of Tural and establish tonal differences between Dawntrail and its predecessors. The wait is nearly over as early access for Final Fantasy XIV’s newest expansion, Dawntrail, is just three days away. But before players can dive into the new world of Tural, they’ll need to find something else to do while the game goes offline for 48 hours starting June 26 at 2:00 a.m. through June 28 at 2:00 a.m. PDT.  The long maintenance period and hefty size needed for Patch 7.0 are primarily due to the graphical update the Final Fantasy XIV team has been touting since before the Dawntrail media tour. The chocolaty Chocorpokkur mount, previously available during a 2021 Final Fantasy XIV and Butterfinger DLC promotion, is returning to celebrate Dawntrail’s July launch. This time, rare mount hunters won't have to buy candy bars to procure this rare mount, all you need to do is watch Twitch when the viewer rewards campaign begins on July 2 and runs through July 29. Starting on July 2 at 1:00 a.m. PDT, log onto Twitch and watch participating Final Fantasy XIV streamers identified with the “Viewer Rewards” tag. We’re exactly one week away from the beginning of Dawntrail early access on June 28 and just 11 days away from its June 2 launch. To make sure players who preordered Dawntrail can jump into the new world of Tural as soon as they’re able, the Final Fantasy XIV team took to The Lodestone to explain the process of participating in early access and how and when to redeem your Dawntrail registration code. First off, if you preordered Dawntrail through the Square Enix Store, registration codes are being sent out via email starting on June 24–that’s four days before the start of early access. Less than a month away from the release of Dawntrail and the Final Fantasy XIV team is still working hard to safeguard players from the long login queues that have plagued previous expansion launches. Last month, we got word of a new Logical Data Center and three new worlds heading to the European Data Center. Final Fantasy XIV director Naoki Yoshida posted a final Lodestone update summarizing the graphical enhancements made to the new Dawntrail benchmark character creator. This all-new version lands tomorrow, June 3. Here’s a quick summary of the graphical updates shared by Yoshida.
