Final Fantasy XVI x Final Fantasy XIV “The Path Infernal” crossover event starts April 2

While the April 2 launch of the Final Fantasy XVI x Final Fantasy XIV crossover event was announced during the FFXIV Dawntrail panel held during PAX East over the weekend, we’ve had to wait until The Lodestone event page went live this morning for more important details.

Entitled “The Path Infernal,” players will begin the crossover in Ul’dah. Speak to the Neophyte Adventurer at coordinates X:8.8 and Y9:9.8 to pick up the “A Land on Fire” quest. You’ll need a level 50 job and have completed at least the A Realm Reborn storyline to play it. This could be disheartening news for new players, especially considering those playing on Xbox consoles have only been adventuring in Eorzea for less than a week. However, the event runs until May 8, providing a little cushion for Final Fantasy XVI fans progressing through the early parts of A Realm Reborn to level up.

The Lodestone page also includes the event rewards announced when the crossover was first revealed at the tail end of 2023. Like the Final Fantasy XV crossover event that returned earlier this month, the goods in "The Path Infernal" are taken straight out of the mainline game and include the Metian armor set, a Torgal mount, and a Torgal puppy minion.

For a look at some spicy crossover event action, including Ifrit combat and a closer look at the event rewards, you can watch the collaboration trailer released last year.
