In celebration of the 10th anniversary of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Square Enix has announced the release of a Table Top RPG based around the game. Both a starter kit and two books have been announced. A starter kit, a Standard Rulebook, and a Secnario and Gamemaster guide have been announced so far.
The starter kit is scheduled for release in May of 2024 for $59.99 and contains everything you and up to 4 friends need to start playing the new game including a player and gamemaster book, character sheets, rules guide, some special dice (d20s and d6s) as well as a map and some tokens.
There will also be a separate Standard Rulebook and a Scenario and Gamemaster book but no release date for those is set yet. The Standard Rulebook is intended to be the core rulebook that both players and gamemasters will use to create characters and understand how the mechanics of the game work, like the Player's Handbook for Dungeons and Dragons. The Scenario and Gamemaster Guide is designed as a resource for those who want to run their own adventures and it will contain some premade scenarios that can be played right out of the box as well. It is not clear if these are the same guides included in the starter set or not. There is also no release date for these books yet.
