Final Fantasy XVI lands on PC on September 17

We finally know when Final Fantasy XVI, last year’s mainline Final Fantasy title, is headed to PC and it’s less than a month away. You’ll be able to start your PC adventure in the world of Valisthea on September 17, 2024, via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

You can preorder just the base game for $50 or upgrade to the Final Fantasy XVI Complete Edition for twenty dollars more. The Complete Edition comes with the base game and both the “Echoes of the Fallen” and “The Rising Tide” DLC packs. You’ll only get access to the legendary Eikon, Leviathan, and all its special skills through “The Rising Tide” DLC.

A PC demo is also available now in both digital storefronts. If you downloaded the demo before today, you may have experienced some bugs and performance issues that the FFXVI team addressed with a newly released patch. But even with today’s update, there are still some performance issues that they’re working to rectify. You can check out the Update 1.01 announcement to find out more about today’s demo patch.

The Final Fantasy XVI team released a new trailer on social media and YouTube to go along with the PC launch announcement. Called "Deliverance," the trailer does a great job of setting up the story and world of Final Fantasy XVI with its massive ground battles, epic Eikon duals, and it even tees up the hero, Clive Rosfield’s, beef with Dominants and the Eikons they control.
