MogTalk celebrates The Arcadion Savage with Final Fantasy XIV’s World Race for Charity

Patch 7.05 is dropping in just a few hours and with it comes the first taste of Savage content offered by the latest expansion, Dawntrail. To celebrate and to bring the FFXIV community together for the arrival of The Arcadion Savage, MogTalk, a FFXIV podcast known for its community events, is hosting a world-first competition for charity.

Frosty, the founder and central organizer for MogTalk, has enlisted and will be tracking the completion progress of nearly 100 Final Fantasy XIV raid squads from all over North America, Europe, and Japan. When the new patch and content drops at 3:00 a.m. PDT, these players will be pumping out insane amounts of damage and learning battle mechanics as fast as they can as they take on the Savage difficulty renditions of The Arcadion raids. That’s four 8-person raid bosses at a difficulty only attempted by the game’s most skilled and dedicated players. The process of earning "World First" could take hours, if not days to complete.

Now, racing to be the first raid group to clear the MMO's newest, most challenging raid content isn’t a new concept. It’s been something serious raid statics have been doing since the inception of Savage difficulty raids; however, normally earning the title “World First” is just for clout and bragging rights. But thanks to major brand sponsors like Mountain Dew and Corsair supporting this event, some cool prizes await the raid team that dominates The Arcadion Savage before the rest.

Adding to the glory and unifying nature of the event is the fact that it’s all for a good cause. MogTalk’s The Arcadion World Race for Charity is raising money for Extra Life, a gamer-centric charity that supports children’s hospitals and children in need of essential medical treatment and equipment. At the time of writing, the event has brought in $636 toward its end goal of $20,000. Head over to the MogTalk Twitch channel to watch the World Race for Charity unfold and to donate what you can for kids in need.

The countdown is happening now, with the pre-show beginning at 2:00 a.m. PDT. Frosty and a team of expert FFXIV analysts will be breaking down the action when raid teams begin their quest to become the world's first to beat The Arcadion Savage. You can also track the progress of each raid team on the MogTalk website when the new patch becomes available at 3:00 a.m. PDT.
