Dawntrail launches for all players today! To celebrate, Final Fantasy fans and those working behind the scenes have come together in a strong showing of support for Final Fantasy XIV’s newest expansion.
Colin Ryan, the voice of Alphinaud in Final Fantasy XIV, and other members of the Dawntrail voice cast commemorated Dawntrail’s official release with a special video on X (formerly Twitter) and YouTube. The video is close to four minutes long and is stacked with established fan favorites like Bethan Walker, Robyn Addison, and Peter Bramhill–the voices of Alisaie, Y’shtola, and Thancred, respectively. Newer voice talent like Ari Óskarsson, the voice of Erenville, and Sena Bryer, the voice of Wuk Lamat, also make appearances to voice their appreciation for the Final Fantasy XIV community. Sena Bryer is especially noteworthy given Wuk Lamat, the game's first Female Hrothgar lead character, makes her first appearance in Dawntrail and has already built an avid fan base from early access.
The teams behind Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Final Fantasy XVI also sent their congratulations and welcomed Dawntrail into the Final Fantasy family.
Hilariously, the irony of Final Fantasy XVI congratulating Final Fantasy XIV was not lost on players. It’s a well-known fact that Naoki Yoshida, aka Yoshi-P, is the lead producer for both acclaimed games and some on the internet embraced the humor of it on launch day.
