When will Final Fantasy XIV go offline in preparation for Dawntrail early access?

When will Final Fantasy XIV go offline in preparation for Dawntrail early access?

The wait is nearly over as early access for Final Fantasy XIV’s newest expansion, Dawntrail, is just three days away. But before players can dive into the new world of Tural, they’ll need to find something else to do while the game goes offline for 48 hours starting June 26 at 2:00 a.m. through June 28 at 2:00 a.m. PDT.

The long maintenance period and hefty size needed for Patch 7.0 are primarily due to the graphical update the Final Fantasy XIV team has been touting since before the Dawntrail media tour. All the new Dawntrail additions and game enhancements have been conveniently summed up in the Patch 7.0 patch notes released earlier today.

Female Hrothgars are the new playable race added in Dawntrail.

To participate in early access that begins when maintenance ends on June 28 at 2:00 a.m. PDT, you’ll need to have preordered the Dawntrail expansion and redeemed your preorder code in the Mog Station if you’re a PC or Mac player. Console players who have preordered Dawntrail are automatically registered for early access and can skip this step.

For full details on tomorrow’s maintenance and for more information on early access, check out The Lodestone. Dawntrail launches and becomes playable for all Warriors of Light on July 2
