Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis is teaming up with Capcom to help them celebrate the 20th anniversary of Monster Hunter. Called “Rathalos in the Midgar Skies,” this special Ever Crisis event starts this evening and features some unique character gear inspired by the beasts of Monster Hunter.
Aside from being able to take on the iconic Monster Hunter beast, Rathalos, as an event boss, this collaboration pairs some of the Capcom series’ noteworthy monsters with Final Fantasy VII characters to create some truly unique gear. During this week's Ever Crisis update stream, it was noted that Square Enix and Capcom were very deliberate with their pairings to ensure all event gear properly reflected the aesthetic of the characters wearing it.
Here’s the event gear available and the creatures from Monster Hunter that inspired each.
The game is currently in maintenance but you won’t have to wait much longer. The “Rathalos in the Midgar Skies” event will be available tonight at 7:00 p.m. PDT. In the meantime, you can check out the event trailer on YouTube.
