Last week’s Letter from the Producer Live may have been focused primarily on job updates, but the Final Fantasy XIV team also announced some unique collaborations players can jump on while they wait for Dawntrail’s July 2 launch. While one is a returning in-game event and the other a new collab that’s high in sugar, both offer players the chance to earn some exclusive in-game gear.
Final Fantasy XIV and Mountain Dew
Final Fantasy XIV is doing the Dew now until July 14 in the US only. Players can purchase qualifying bottles of Mountain Dew and redeem codes under the caps for points that can be exchanged for Dew-centric in-game items and other rewards.
Enter cap codes and bank points on the official Mountain Dew Gaming site. Then head into the Mountain Dew Gaming market to spend points on Final Fantasy XIV rewards. Reward prices range from 200 points up to 35,000 points and feature a broad spread of options, including exclusive in-game items like the Mountain Zu mount and physical Final Fantasy XIV-branded merchandise.
Here’s a sample of some of the redeemable rewards.
At the time of writing, 5 of the available Final Fantasy XIV physical rewards have been sold out. Supplies are limited for some items, so check out the Mountain Dew Gaming market for rewards you’re interested in and start collecting cap codes!
Fall Guys in-game collaboration event returns!
If you missed out on this in-game collab last year, you’ll be able to join the chaos when it returns to the Gold Saucer on May 23. This truly unique event has 24 Warriors of Light competing in Blunderville shows set in obstacle courses that look and feel like they were taken straight out of Fall Guys.
The action is rowdy, outrageous, and very annoying at times, but the Manderville Gold Saucer Fame (MGF) you earn can be exchanged for Fall Guys-inspired glamour and other items. For a look at all the available items, you can visit the event page on The Lodestone.
The Gentlebean Knit Cap, Parka, Bottoms, and Shoes are exclusive event items.
If you participated in the event the first time around, you’ll be able to pick up right where you left off. No quest retrieval is needed. If you’re new and at the minimum level of 15, head to the Gold Saucer and speak with Lewena (X:4.8, Y:6:1) to grab the quest titled “It Could Happen to You” to start participating in Blunderville shows.
You’ll have until June 10 to earn MGF and unlock all the rewards you can. But if you miss out on something, no worries! The Final Fantasy XIV and Fall Guys collaboration is a seasonal event that will be returning in irregular intervals.
