We’re 55 days away from the July 2 launch of Dawntrail and the Final Fantasy XIV team has just announced another seasonal event to keep players occupied. The Make It Rain Campaign is headed back to the Gold Saucer on May 15, bringing the fabled Kappa Suit as a reward.
Players can earn 50% more MGP during the Make It Rain: March On Imps Campaign that kicks off next week and continues until May 31. The long-awaited Kappa Suit will make its glorious debut and is a neon green abomination with a beak that’s loosely based on an imp in popular Japanese folklore. This odd, yet special, glamour was specifically requested by the creator of Final Fantasy, Hironobu Sakaguchi, who wore the costume during the last Tokyo Fan Festival.
To begin your path to the Kappa Suit, you’ll head to the Ul’dah Steps and chat with Quevain (X:9.4, Y:9.2) to pick up the “Of Imish Importance” questline. In addition to other imp-inspired loot, rewards from past Make It Rain Campaigns will also be available.
If striking it rich in the Gold Saucer isn’t enough content for you, this campaign will be held alongside the Moogle Treasure Trove: The Second Hunt for Genesis seasonal event that begins May 14. As usual, players can collect irregular tomestones by queuing up for event-associated instances in the Duty Finder, participating in GATEs, and via ocean fishing. The irregular tomes can then be exchanged for rewards like the Emerald Carbuncle earrings.
