The Final Fantasy XVI’s New Game+ bug will be fixed next week Headline Image

Patch 1.32 is arriving on May 9 and will fix the New Game+ bug stopping some Final Fantasy XVI players from progressing through the “A Chance Encounter” main scenario quest.  The Final Fantasy XVI team announced the existence of the bug exactly one week ago today. The bug may occur when players begin New Game+ from some game locations and choose to skip the prologue. If affected, in-game party members become invisible and progress in the main scenario quest, “A Chance Encounter,” becomes impossible. While there were a couple of suggested workarounds impacted players could try like restarting New Game+ and not skipping the prologue, the development team prioritized finding a solution and...

New Dawntrail benchmark is coming at the end of May Headline Image

Final Fantasy XIV director Naoki Yoshida, aka Yoshi-P, has posted an update on the revamped Dawntrail benchmark that will replace the first one launched last month. May 23 is the tentative release date for the new benchmark but Yoshi-P notes it is not a confirmed date and it could end up launching later that week. The lengthy Lodestone post also went over the reworks the development team has been implementing based on player feedback from the April benchmark’s character creator. On the docket first was fixing the environmental parameters that didn’t reflect Dawntrail’sgraphical updates and were impacting character appearance. According to the post, elements like lighting, positioning of ligh...

Welcoming Cameron to the Final Fantasy Info.com Team. Headline Image

Hello everyone and welcome to another posting about what we have been doing behind the scenes here at Final Fantasy Info.com. Samina has been diligently gathering a lot of nice information about a lot of different things which we have been storing in a “To Do” queue just waiting to get up on the site as different media get their sections created and the appropriate page template made to display all this nice information, I would say right now there are about a dozen sets of information in the queue just waiting to get published. Unfortunately, most of that waiting is due to a lack of time on my (Matthew) part. Last month saw the finishing of my school semester in college so there was a lot o...

Final Fantasy XIV preps new data center ahead of Dawntrail Headline Image

We’re 62 days away from the July 2 launch of Dawntrail and server congestion continues to be a primary concern for the Final Fantasy XIV team. Today, they announced the creation of Shadow, a new European Data Center that’ll be ready for the summer launch. The new data center will include three new worlds appropriately themed after the 2019 Shadowbringers expansion. There’s Innocence, Pixie, and Titania. The FFXIV team will be monitoring login congestion carefully to determine the opening dates of the Shadow Data Center worlds. While you may see the Shadow Data Center following an upcoming May 7 update, none of the worlds will be accessible until the data center’s official launch which will b...

A New Game+ bug makes progress impossible in Final Fantasy XVI Headline Image

Final Fantasy XVI may be done with DLC following the release of The Rising Tide but there’s no rest for the weary. The development team just announced the existence of a bug impacting New Game+ players that’s capable of preventing main scenario quest progress. The team has prioritized finding the cause of the bug and repairing it and is expected to release a patch once they do. While the bug is game-breaking in that it manages to prevent story progress, encountering it isn’t a sure thing. According to the announcement made on social media, there is a “small chance” of the bug occurring when a player selects New Game+ and opts to skip the prologue. Doing this could result in party members not...
